Our fennec fox encounter has changed since we first started offering it. In previous tours we did allow visitors to pick up our fennec fox to cuddle him, this is because while he was younger he was happy to enjoy warm pets and cuddles. As he has aged he has made it clear he does not enjoy it anymore. So to respect his boundaries we only allow visitors to offer him (as well as Lila our female fennec fox) some food and they can take it if they want to. We are constantly changing the way we allow v

Have you ever heard what a gray fox sounds like? It may not be what you would expect. Gray foxes, along with red foxes and other species, have a variety of interesting vocalizations. These can come in the form of yelps, howls, screams, whines, and screeches that are used for communication. The most common vocalization for the gray fox is the one heard in this video - a very coarse, gravelly bark.
